Even though our original intention was to grow in our garden only "species" and "Old Roses", over the years a certain numbers of Modern Climbers, Floribundas, Polyanthas, Patios.
In our Corbara garden there are many roses whose identity we do not know, but which thrive and bear beautiful flowers. We have given them fanciful names, either from the place where we found them (Correale Museum, Sorrento; Myra White; Bagatelle; etc.) or with descriptive names ("Beauty on the Hillside", "Cherry Tree Rose") or the names of the people who gave us the plant ("Anna Malerba"; "Abbadi"; "Andrea Franchi").
They belong to the following categories:
Plants grown from cuttings taken from Italian or foreign gardens or given to us by friends.
Plants purchased from nurseries in Italy, France, England which, growing, turn out not to be the ones we ordered.
Roses replanted in different sectors of the garden, which have lost their labels.
Fanciful name Rose
There are some rose species in the Ducrot garden that are not classified. The names are fanciful, indicative of where they are found or where they come from.
