ducrot rose garden
On the Umbrian hills, with a panoramic view of Lake Corbara and a short distance from the thousand-year-old town of Orvieto stands the Ducrot Rose Garden, the country house surrounded by roses.
The house is immersed in a 25-hectare estate that enjoys a privileged position on hills of olive groves, vineyards and a vast forest, ideal for walks. The surrounding land, belonging to a farm, produces fine extra virgin olive oil and some of Italy's most renowned wine brands.
The old farmhouse has been restored with care in the most traditional style of Umbrian architecture.
THE SPACES
The main house
The house has original decorations in every room, providing an intimate atmosphere in the bedrooms and a cosy space in the living areas.
The furniture and precious furnishings are matched by tapestries shaded in the characteristic colours of the countryside.
The main house has a ground floor and a first floor designed to fit the natural terrace of the land and are two separate floors.
On the main floor, access is via outside stairs.
The main entrance gives direct access to the three en-suite bedrooms: 2 doubles and 1 twin.
A few steps connect the living room with fireplace and the dining area located in the kitchen with fireplace, to the pantry and the laundry room.
Downstairs, an elegant living room with decorative fireplace is the ideal place to relax after a day spent in the countryside, after a good dinner served in the dining room or in the rear garden.
The dependance
A short walk up the hill overlooking the main house leads to a smaller building, the former agricultural annex of the main house.
The dependance, after restoration work, is the ideal place to enjoy more privacy than the main house.
The guests have independent access to the room with a double bed and private bathroom.
The annex, with an additional bed on request, can accommodate up to 3 people.
Features
The swimming pool is located in the back garden of the estate, on an upper terrace that climbs a few steps near the olive grove, about 70 metres from the house.
Perfectly integrated into the landscape, the pool is equipped with sun loungers, parasol, deckchairs and a shower (with cold water).
The pool is rectangular in shape and measures 18 x 10 metres with a depth ranging from 140 to 160 centimetres and steps for access.
Open from the beginning of May to the end of September.
The garden blends perfectly with the surrounding vineyards, woods and hills. The surrounding vegetation is a mix of scents and colours: lavender bushes, wild roses, cysts and rosemary, jasmine hedges and strawberry trees line the borders and stone paths. A cosy pergola shades the French doors of the living room, the perfect place to enjoy the days outdoors. Every year the blossoming of the roses at the Roseto di Caselle is a very special moment.
Taking care of our land also means preserving the plant species.
